Process Strainers
A Process Strainer is a mechanical style filter that provides low-cost solids filtration in a variety of applications. Strainers can be fabricated or cast depending on the size and application.
basket strainers
Basket Strainers are typically used in applications where a higher solid loading is expected and cleaning will be more common. Strainer change out is simplified with use of either a top end blind flange or quick-opening closure style cover.
‘Y’ strainers
‘Y’ Strainers are common in steam applications, and those processes where solid loading is relatively low in relation to the flow through the installation line. Available with threaded or flange end connections.

Temporary strainers
Typically used on start-up, as well as providing additional protection of downstream piping is required where high solids loading is not anticipated. Cone and Basket styles are available.

JCI designs and fabricates both Basket and ‘Y’ Style strainers in Calgary, AB. A growing library of stock, standard designs are available for fabricated Basket and ‘Y’ Strainers, with custom designs available upon request. Fabricated strainers can be supplied in carbon or stainless steel, and are available from Class 150 through Class 1500.
